Zoeller M63 Premium Series

The Zoeller M63 Premium Series Submersible Sump Pump will now be the plumbers favorite. The M53 Mighty Mate has always been known as the plumbers favorite; however, the M63 has additional features which lead to an even longer pump life.

Not only is the motor, pump-housing and switch case cast-iron, but the base, and impeller are also cast-iron. A cast-iron-base adds more weight to the pump to keep it even more stationary in the pit during heavy rainstorms with continuous pumping. A cast-iron-impeller will be impossible to break.

The float-switch has been upgraded. The M63 float-switch is guaranteed for five years. The switch is both micro and mechanical, known as advanced switch technology, which definately extends the life of the switch. In addition the switch has another layer of protection known as a Viton switch-arm boot which further eliminates the potential of moisture affecting the switch mechanics.

The cord has also been upgraded with a LED plug which lights green when electrical power is flowing. The length of the cord has also been increased to ten feet.

This saves on the wear during each cycle. The added Viton boot surrounding the switch also provides additional protection from moisture. Moisture is one of the factors that causes switch failure.

The added cast-iron base from thermoplastic provides additional weight so the pump remains more stationary in the pit.

The homeowner can easily check if electricity is flowing through the cord because a LED light has been added to the plug which illumines as green when the power is flowing through to the motor.

Flotec E3305TLT

The Flotec E3305TLT is a strongly built third-horsepower submersible. Unlike most cast iron sump pumps this one has a tethered float which requires a fourteen-inch diameter pit. Since it does have a vortex impeller it is capable of handling 1/2 spherical solids. For a 1/3 HP it has a good pumping performance at 40 gallons per minute at a ten foot vertical height. Unlike many pumps, the E3305TLT has a piggyback plug which allows the owner to run the sump pump manually if the float should fail. To run manually, the piggy back plug should be removed from the wall socket, tied out of the way to the discharge pipe and the motor cord should be plugged directly into the wall socket. BEcause therie is no float-switch engaged, it is necessary to plug the motor plug when the water is to the level of the impeller. Running the motor when no water is present will cause the motor to burn out.

Flotec E50VLT

The Flotec E50VLT is much like the E3305TLT except the E50VLT has a vertical float-switch which takes less room in the basin and is half a horsepower submersible. Since this pump is cast-iron it will last a long time. The quickest part to fail will be the float-switch.

Flotec E75VLT

The Flotec E75VLT is much like the E50VLT except the E75VLT is three-quarters-horsepower which increases its pumping performance. Like E50VLT it is made of cast-iron so its weight keeps the pump stable in the basin. The float-switch is vertical which will not get hung up as easily as the E3305TLT with its tethered float-switch.
