Vertical Float Switch Features For A Submersible Sump Pump

  • This is the mechanism that moves based on water level in the sump pit. When it rises to a certain height the switch triggers the operation of the pump.
  • Without some kind of trigger indicating the level of the water has misen in the sump pit, the pump will not operate.
  • Water is the agent causing the vertical float to rise. A rising float will activate the sump pump motot ro run. 
  • A vertical float is the most common float-switch type and depending upon it design may be protected from obstruction, but like all other float-switch types eventually stops working.  The vertical floats may be manual or magnetic.  A vertical manual float is raised as the water rises and trips the switch. A vertical mechanical float trips the switch as a metal magnet located at the top of the float rod triggers the switch to operate.
